Unleashing

Women’s Potential

Empowering a person takes persistent effort. Because empowerment isn’t just about providing opportunities, but also slowly and steadily building skills, developing confidence and nurturing aspirations.

It is the unfortunate truth of our society, that women from low-income groups are often pulled away from a chance at self-development. Though they are often the glue that holds a family together, their own potential and desires remain unrecognized.

At Gyaan Ruchi, our effort is to simply supplement the daily lives of women with capsules of learning, recreation and progress.

Our on-ground team works on two fronts. First, they visit women in bastis and mohallas across the city to understand their specific needs and proclivities. Second, they engage extensively with educators, health professionals, artists, writers and community leaders, to develop comprehensive modules of engagement. These modules are then delivered across communities.

Whether through health-camps, English-speaking classes or even dance-drama workshops, the sole intention is to build self-esteem and increase self-sufficiency among women.

We hope that in the long-term, the education and empowerment opportunities Gyaan Ruchi facilitates will help women grow in to confident, aware and progressive citizens who possess the knowledge and skills to change the trajectory of their families and communities.
